Hotel Review: Radisson Blu Centrum, Warsaw, Poland - January 2017

Hotel Review: Radisson Blu Centrum, Warsaw, Poland - January 2017.

I stayed at the Radisson Blu Centrum in Warsaw in January 2017, two of us stayed on a room only basis for four nights, which cost 1,036 Polish Zloty, which is about £216GBP.

This film features: exterior views of the hotel; reception; lift / elevator; 7th floor corridor, a detailed room review of room 734; views from 734 over Warsaw; lobby; bar; 1st floor conference mezzanine; Ferdy's Latino Brasserie; complimentary appetiser; tagliatelle; and a dorada fish dish.

The room was warm and comfortable, it had a large king-sized bed, seating area with table and chairs, desk, wardrobe, safe, TV, and a large and stylish bathroom. This was a great quality hotel, the staff on reception were superb, and on our last day gave us a much appreciated complimentary late checkout of 6pm.

I would definitely stay at this hotel again in future.

Hotel Review: Novotel Kraków City West, Bronowice, Kraków, Lesser Poland...

Hotel Review: Novotel Kraków City West, Lesser Poland, Poland - January 2017.

The Novotel Kraków City West, is located in the suburb of Bronowice about a 30-40 minute walk, or a 7 minute taxi ride (£4.50 in an UberPop) from Kraków's Old Town. The hotel interior seems modern and stylish, it looks as though it has had a recent design makeover.

Two of us stayed at the hotel in January 2017 for 4 nights, bed and breakfast, which cost £212 booked via the Novotel website.

This film features: the entrance to the hotel, reception, lobby, bar, gaming area, the lift, a detailed room review of 922, views from room 922, New Year's Day 2017 sunset, the breakfast buffet, restaurant, pool changing rooms, and swimming pool.

The room was large and comfortable, typical Novotel style with a large comfortable bed, desk on wheels, sofa, wardrobe, tea and coffee making facilities, the bathroom was modern and clean with a shower over the bath. The staff at the hotel gave great customer service, the breakfast was delicious and the swimming pool was a real asset, it was quiet most of the time, and provided a great bit of recreation away from the cold. I would definitely stay at this hotel again in the future.

Hotel Review: Hotel Port Sitges, Sitges, Catalonia, Spain - October 2016.

This film features exterior views of the hotel; the reception; lift / elevator; a detailed room inspection of 208; the male changing rooms for the swimming pool; the swimming pool; hot tub; views from room 208; breakfast buffet; and bar.

The room was very comfortable, and was apartment style, with a separate bedroom and living room, which also included a small kitchen area. The bathroom was also separate, and was quite small with a shower-bath. The room was a corner room with two different views of the Port, the room also had a balcony.

I really enjoyed my time at this hotel, the room was great, the swimming pool was wonderful, and mostly empty! The staff gave first class customer service.

Review: No.11B Boutique Rooms, Berwick-Upon-Tweed, Northumberland, Engla...

Review: Boutique Guesthouse 11B, Berwick-Upon-Tweed, Northumberland, England - November 2016.

I stayed at the 11B Boutique Rooms Guesthouse in Berwick-Upon-Tweed in November 2016. Two of us stayed in a double room for one night on a room only basis, and this cost £70. Upon arrival we collected the key for our room from the fish and chip shop next door, which is affiliated to the guesthouse. The room was small and compact, but it was warm and comfortable. It had a good sized bed, TV, fridge with milk in, draws, tea and coffee making facilities, but no wardrobe, just some hooks and hangers.

The bathroom was very modern, and looked like it had been refurbished recently to a high spec. There was a walk in shower, sink, toilet and heated towel radiator.

Overall I enjoyed my stay in this small space, it wasn't cheap, but it was very decent. One minor gripe, is that when we returned at night there was a bit of a whiff of fish and chips! Which may not be to everyone's liking!! I would certainly consider staying here again should I find myself in Berwick.

Horsforth Railway Station 2016 Compilation, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England

Horsforth Railway Station 2016 Compilation, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England.

Horsforth railway station is a railway station in West Yorkshire, England. It is on the Harrogate Line 5.75 miles (9 km) north west of Leeds station and the final stop in the Metro regulated area towards Harrogate. The station is located on the Cookridge side of the Moseley beck but has a Horsforth postcode (LS18). To read more about Horsforth Station, click here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horsforth_railway_station .

When I travel by train from home, I usually begin my journeys at Horsforth Railway Station. I always have something with me which I can record some video footage with, be it my iPhone, Flip Ultra, Veho Muvi, so in the minutes that I'm waiting, I quite often make a few seconds worth of film of either the surroundings or of the passing rail traffic. I have done this for the past few years now, and at the beginning of a new year have released my compilation from the previous year. Here is my compilation of footage from Horsforth Railway Station in 2016. The clips have been put in the order that they were shot chronologically, starting in January and finishing in December. Some shots are by day, and others at night, but all of them capture the moments that I was there waiting.

Featured class units and locomotive along with information about them is as follows:

Flight Review: Emirates EK017, Dubai to Manchester (Business Class) - 18...

Flight Review: Emirates EK017, Dubai to Manchester (Business Class) - 18th September, 2016.

I flew with Emirates business class in an Airbus A380 from Dubai to Manchester, UK in September 2016. This was the second leg of a 24 hour journey from Brisbane to Manchester.

This film contains footage of the following: Dubai Airport Business Class Lounge for Gates B and C; the business office area; free mobile phone charging; complimentary food and drink; boarding the aircraft; seat 23A (upper deck, left side, rear); lots of legroom; the at seat facilities; the on-board entertainment; safety demonstration; push back, taxi and take-off from Dubai Airport; aerial views of Dubai; wine list and menu; continental breakfast; the business class toilet; the business class bar; aerial views of Iran; Lunch; approach, landing and taxi at Manchester Airport; and the Emirates Mercedes journey back to Leeds.

This was a good flight, that I would absolutely take again in future, however I would like to add some criticisms: The Business Class Lounge for Gates B & C at Dubai Airport is simply too big and busy, it didn't 'feel' like Business Class because of the amount of people using it, it was also too far to the gate; the interior of Aircraft A6-EDI already seems outdated, the touchscreen for 23A only partially worked, and the remote control was cumbersome; the seat controls for 23A were in an awkward position; and finally, I wasn't hugely impressed with the cabin crew member who was meant to be looking after my area, I won't go into detail, but if I'm completely honest, I don't think that she was ready for Business Class (at that point, this was Sept 2016). Having now taken six Business Class flights with Emirates, the difference in service quality was noticeable.  With all of that said, if I were flying long haul with Emirates in future, I would still do it business class as normally the service is excellent, and I take this as an exception rather than the norm.

Hotel Review: Oakwood Hotel, Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, Queensland, Aus...

Hotel Review: Oakwood Hotel, Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia - September 2016.

I stayed in the Oakwood Hotel in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, next to the Story Bridge in September 2016, two of us stayed for 2 nights on a room only basis, which cost $AU370 booked with Booking.com.

This film features: exterior views of the hotel; the reception / lobby area; the lift / elevator; a detailed room inspection of room 615; a detailed inspection of apartment 610; the bar; the restaurant; some example food including a caeser salad and a pork and beef burger; the breakfast buffet; the tennis court; swimming pool; views of Brisbane CBD, the Brisbane River and the Story Bridge; the gym; and the underground car park.

This was a really great hotel to stay in, I very much enjoyed my time there. The apartment room was just great, the staff gave excellent customer service, and the views were superb. The food in the restaurant was also very reasonably priced.

Flight Review: QantasLink QF1769, Mackay to Brisbane, Queensland, Austra...

Flight Review: QantasLink QF1769, Mackay to Brisbane, Queensland, Australia - 15th September, 2016.

I flew with QantasLink from Mackay to Brisbane in September 2016, Mackay Airport was very easy to navigate and check-in. Boarding was quick and easy, however once on-board the Boeing 717-200 aircraft, things went downhill. My 'window' seat 25A, was not a window a all, but a wall, which very much disappointed me. I had no leg room at all, my knees were sticking into the back of the seat in front of me. The in flight snack of celery and pickled beetroot dip was awful, however the soy crisps and chocolate that came with it were better. By far the best aspect of this flight was a complimentary can of James Boag's Premium Lager! I wouldn't recommend this flight, and will not be taking it again in future. Those of you who watch my films regularly will know that I'm generally positive about the service I receive, so please don't think I'm a moaner, this is actually the first bad review of a flight that I have given.

This film features view of Mackay Airport and on board the Boeing 717-200.

Hotel Review: Best Western Mango House Resort, Airlie Beach, Queensland,...

I stayed at the Best Western Mango House Resort in Airlie Beach in September 2016, four of us stayed for 3 nights in two apartments (19 poolside and 19 tree side), the total cost for both apartments was $AU510, booked with Booking.com.

This film features footage of Apartment 19 (poolside), including the kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom and balcony. The swimming pool, spa bath and the local wildlife including some friendly cockatoos.

I enjoyed my time at this accommodation, the swimming pool was particularly good. There were some problems though. The remote control for the air conditioning in 19 Poolside did not work, meaning one night we could not turn it off, and our apartment was freezing cold. In 19 Tree Side there was a recurring ant infestation. This wasn't very pleasant for the two in our party who were staying there. My recommendation would definitely be to opt for a poolside apartment here.

This was a great hotel, the staff were fantastic and the swimming pool whilst pretty chilly was amazing. My only gripe was that the safe in the room didn't work. I would definitely stay at this hotel again though.
